During worship we use: the Bible, from which passages are read at all services; The Book of Common Prayer, which contains all the Rites used in public worship; and The Hymnal, which contains hymns and other music used in worship. Corporate public worship is the center of our life in Christ, providing us the opportunity to offer a joyous response to God's love, to receive strength and forgiveness from God, and to share our faith with other believers.
The Holy Eucharist is the sacrament commanded by Christ for the continual remembrance of his life, death and resurrection, until his coming again. By participating in this sacrament we receive the strengthening of our union with Christ and one another, and the foretaste of the heavenly banquet which is our nourishment in eternal life. Therefore, the Holy Eucharist is the principal act of Christian worship on the Lord's Day and is celebrated at all Sunday services. Visitors or newcomers who are baptized Christians are welcome to join us at the altar rail to receive the Bread of Heaven and the Cup of Salvation. We use Communion wafers and share a common cup/chalice of wine. Recipients may choose to receive and eat the Communion wafer, and then drink the wine from the common cup, or alternatively, receive a wafer which they may then dip into the chalice before eating it. If you choose to receive just the bread or just the wine, that is quite acceptable. (If you would prefer to receive neither the bread nor the wine, but instead just a priestly blessing, please so indicate by crossing your arms over your chest.)
